There’s a pretty common misconception about meditation – that your mind must be somehow clear of all thought.
(Stick with me. This gets to the business angle pretty quickly.)
In reality, of course, meditation is not really about clearing your mind.
A better metaphor is of the mind as a deep blue sky.
The sky may fill with clouds (thoughts), but as we watch them come and go (without attachment), it’s always there … our natural default state.
We aren’t forcing anything.
Likewise, if we can be brave enough to tell our true story, we put it all out there.
We aren’t forcing anything, apologising for anything or pretending anything.
P.S. Is it easy? Not at all. Is it worth it? Yes.
