So I’ve bought three new bookshelves in the last 10 days, and I’m stupidly excited.
Interesting question …. because it points us at a valuable idea.
I’ve talked before about Jobs To Be Done theory, the idea from the late Clay Christensen, that people ‘hire’ products for reasons that aren’t always obvious.
A bookshelf is just bought to store books, right?
A bookshelf may be ‘hired’ in Christensen’s parlance, to fulfil a number of jobs, including… in this case… to slightly pacify my wife.
