Why business is like dating

Recently, I talked through the three stages of my 20-year marketing journey.

But there’s a simpler metaphor that works here.

Marketing is dating.

Which means that there are really only two options.

You must either ‘sell’ someone on the idea of going out with you … or become the kind of person who gets the right kind of dates.

I never had much luck with the first strategy, but the second one worked out fine.

The lesson…

For many of us, it’s better to stop selling and start changing.
